Whitney Tatum has had a myriad of business experience: from writing her first Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) as a Dairy Queen cake maker in her early teenage years, to going Business School, to being a Business Coordinator volunteer in the Peace Corps, to owning a Moving and Remodeling company… Whitney has used her experience to hone in on what small businesses really need, but don’t have time for: Policies & Procedures. Moving to WA in October of 2022 and Starting MOXIE Entrepreneurial Support Services (MOXIE) in early 2023, Whitney has taken her over 15 years of business experience and honed it into a specialty that helps support small business owners, while teaching them how to move forward with a strong foundation for their businesses.

How is your business like a house?
Think about it… when starting or running a business, we prepare the ground by creating an idea, following a passion, or meeting a need. We then lay the foundation by creating a legal business structure, filing with the State and Federal governments, and acquiring the licenses we need. Then, at that point, we usually hit the ground running, creating a temporary lean-to that we hope will hold everything together, while we do our duties as the CEO: Chief Everything Officer. Well, that is not sustainable, and leads to burn out… and if the 3 little pigs have taught us anything, even a small blow can knock everything down. In this workshop, you will learn how to create a solid foundation for your business by creating basic policies and procedures to structure and protect you and your business.
